Airline advisories due to eruption of Taal Volcano

Cebu Pacific Air advisory
As of 8:00 pm, January 12, 2020

Due to ash caused by phreatic eruption of Taal Volcano, Cebu Pacific is cancelling flights arriving to and departing from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm tonight, January 12, 2020.

Passengers booked on these cancelled flights will receive a notification through the contact details they provided upon booking. They may then manage their booking through the Cebu Pacific website, https://book.cebupacificair.com/Manage/Retrieve, with the following options:

 

·       Rebook flights within 30 days without penalties

·       Refund tickets in full

·       Store the value of the ticket in a Travel Fund for future use.

 

Check for real-time status of Cebu Pacific and Cebgo flights through https://www.cebupacificair.com/Pages/flight-status. We will also post announcements on the Cebu Pacific website as well as our official Facebook (Facebook.com/cebupacificair) and Twitter (@CebuPacificAir), as necessary.

 

We urge passengers on flights that have already been cancelled to check for updates through the contact details provided, and refrain from proceeding to the airport.

 

We appeal for patience and understanding as we manage flights amidst these conditions. The safety of all is our foremost priority.


PAL advisory

Philippine Airlines

Updated as of 8PM

Please be advised that the Manila Airport has been declared CLOSED from 6:30PM to 11PM today January 12 (Sunday) due to volcanic ash emissions that have reached Manila skies. 

 

The temporary closure of the Manila Airport is based on a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines. 

 

The following arriving PAL flights have been diverted to Clark:


PR 721 London – Manila 

PR 421 Haneda – Manila
PR 331 Xiamen – Manila

All flights originally scheduled to depart from Manila between 6:30PM and 11PM today January 12 and have been declared CANCELLED.

 

All flights originally scheduled to arrive in Manila within the said period, except those diverted to Clark, have been declared cancelled. 


If you are an affected passenger with a confirmed booking, you have the option to rebook or refund your ticket within 30 days from your original flight date with rebooking and refunding service fees waived. (Fare difference charges will be waived provided that rebooking is on same cabin class.) Rerouting will be subject to PAL’s rerouting zonal rules.

Air Asia advisory

On advice from airport authorities in Manila, AirAsia will suspend and cancel domestic and international flights to/from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) due to the eruption of Taal Volcano.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has temporarily suspended operations at NAIA between 19:00 and 23:00 local time on Sunday, 12 January.

AirAsia guests traveling over the next few days are strongly encouraged to check their flight status at airasia.com/flightstatus for the latest updates

AirAsia has notified all affected guests via email and SMS. Guests who are traveling on the above flights are encouraged to check their registered email and mobile for cancellation notifications.

In light of this natural event, AirAsia is making the following options available to guests whose flights have been canceled or delayed longer than 3 hours:

Move flight: One-time flight change to a new travel date on the same route within 30 calendar days from the original flight time without additional cost, subject to seat availability; OR

Credit account: Retain the value of your fare in your AirAsia BIG Loyalty account for future travel with AirAsia. The online credit account is to be redeemed for booking within 90 calendar days from the issuance date for your travel with us. The actual travel dates can be after the expiry date as long as our flight schedule is out; OR

Full Refund: Obtain a full refund in the amount equivalent to your booking in the form of original payment. Refund requests can be made with AVA at support.airasia.com. Refunds for bookings made through travel agents including online travel agents must be done via travel agents from which the booking was made.
