ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin said the city government will conduct “operation tuli” on July 4, 2022 for kids aged 10 and above, at the city’s six Rural Health Units.

This is in pursuit of providing accessible health care to all Angeleños especially the indigent and marginalized, Lazatin says.

“Ito pong libreng tuli ay gagawin natin sa mga RHUs simultaneously. Tayo na po ang lalapit sa mga barangays upang mas marami pong kabataang lalaki ang mahikayat na mag-avail ng serbisyo,” Lazatin furthered.

The preparation was ironed out during a meeting presided by Lazatin’s Chief Adviser, IC Calaguas on Thursday, May 26, with Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and key offices: City Health Office led by Dr. Verona Guevarra, Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center Chief Medical Officer Dr. Froilan Canlas, Gender and Development Officer-in-Charge Mina Cabiles, Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office led by Rudy Simeon, Angeles City Tourism Auxiliary led by Michael Lising, CHO-Sanitation Division Chief Alvin Dingal, and City Engineer Donato Dizon.

Calaguas said the city government targets to circumcise 300 children daily for over a month.

Calaguas also shared that the kids will take home kits which include Vitamin C supplements and medicines for the circumcision.

The registration for the free circumcision will take place on June 10 to 25, 2022, at the GAD Office, Monday to Thursday, from 8 AM to 7 PM.

GAD Officer-in-Charge Mina Cabiles said the children should be accompanied by parents upon registration.

In addition, CHO Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra emphasized that only children aged 10 and above will be the main beneficiaries of the program.

Thirty midwives, nurses, and doctors from CHO and RLMMC will lead the operation ‘tuli.’

Calaguas mentioned that aside from the health care operations, medicines under the RHUs are accessible to everyone anytime.

“These are among Mayor Lazatin’s commitments in ensuring the health and welfare of Angeleños,” Calaguas shared.

To recall, it was during the stint of Mayor Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin from 2002 to 2007 that Angeles City launched a free cirumcision program.
