AC gov’t hosts Óbrang Bábáyi exhibit

In line with the National Women’s Month, the Angeles City Government led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. hosts Óbrang Bábáyi exhibit featuring 19 Angeleña artists. ANGELES CITY — The city government here under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. started to conduct a visual art exhibit featuring the artworks of 19 Angeleña artists in celebration of National Women’s Month.

Dubbed as “Óbrang Bábáyi”, the exhibit is open to the public from March 1 to 31 at SM City Clark.

Mayor Lazatin graced the event with Vice Mayor Vicenta Vicky Vega Cabigting, Assistant Mall Manager Officer-in-Charge Lourdes Alarcon Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui, and Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles.

During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Mayor Lazatin said the exhibit aims to help struggling artists get back on their feet amid the new normal setting and to recognize the significant contributions of women in the community.

“Sa mga obra po na ito sumasalamin ang mga katangian at mahahalagang kontribusyon ng mga babae sa lipunan,” Lazatin added.

As the city government marks the celebration of Women’s Month, Lazatin also vows to continue to provide programs that will uplift the welfare of Angeleñas.

“Patuloy po ang paglulunsad natin ng mga programang nangangalaga sa kapakanan at karapatan ng mga babae,” Lazatin furthered.

Among the programs being undertaken for women are livelihood programs, strengthening women’s desk in the barangay level, the establishment of solo parents affairs, and free health service such as papsmear.
