Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.’s Chief Adviser and Tactician IC Calaguas, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel (both Beautéderm Ambasadress) and Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles help with the organization of 179 hygiene kits that will be distributed to female persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Camp Tomas J. Pepito, Barangay Sto. Domingo Angeles City. Inside each hygiene kit are reusable sanitary napkins, shampoo, and Beautederm products including Purete spray, balm, Belle powder, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth wash, face towel, and bath soap.
ANGELES CITY – As part of the city government’s Women’s Month celebration, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. in partnership with Beautederm Corporation will distribute 179 units of hygiene kits to female persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Camp Tomas J. Pepito, Barangay Sto. Domingo here.
Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, also Beautéderm Ambasadress, said that inside the hygiene kits are reusable sanitary napkins, shampoo, and Beautederm products including Purete spray, balm, Belle powder, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth wash, face towel, and bath soap.
“The city government is encouraging every-Juana to use reusable sanitary napkin since its environment-friendly, and healthier to use,” Manuel explained.
“This is also part of our programs to preserve our environment,” she added.
In fact, Mayor Lazatin said, the city government will conduct a tree planting activity on March 19.
In addition, Mayor Lazatin wants to ensure the safety and health of the people inside the jail, as well as to promote proper hygiene and raise awareness on how communities can protect themselves amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chief Adviser and Tactician IC Calaguas, also Beautéderm Ambassadress, cited the efforts of the corporation led by President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rei Anicoche-Tan for actively assisting the city government’s programs even before the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are thankful to everyone who is extending a helping hand to the city government, in order to uplift our community’s welfare,” Calaguas said.
The Gender and Development Office headed by Mina Cabiles is set to distribute the 179 hygiene kits on March 10, 2021, she added.
Further, to recognize the significant contributions of women towards community development, Mayor Lazatin has told GAD to prepare activities in celebration of the National Women’s Month this March, Cabiles explained.
Part of this year’s line-up of activities include the distribution of Hygiene and Buntis Kits; Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) awareness videos being shown on Angeles University Foundation and Systems Plus LED Monitors; distribution of leaflets regarding VAWC Laws (Safe Spaces Act, Rape, RA 9262); Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness to Barangay halls and Barangay VAWC Desks; dissemination of VAWC awareness videos to Philippine National Police (PNP) Women’s Desk; and Distribution of Livelihood Packages to the members of the city’s women sector.
