ANGELES CITY — A vice mayoralty candidate and two other incumbent councilors  sponsored a resolution which was unanimously approved in the city council last Tuesday allowing a P25,000 cash incentive for each of the 1,372 employees of the city government.

Vice mayoralty candidate Councilor Jesus “Jay” Sangil and Councilors Dan Lacson and Arvin “Pogs” Suller sponsored Resolution No. 6627, S-2013 supporting the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) between the city government and the Association of Government Employees for a New and Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA).

The said CNA provides the grant of incentives to employees of the city government for a total of P34,300,000.

According to the resolution, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Circular No. 2012-4, dated December 7, 2012, sets the guidelines for the grant of CAN incentives for the fiscal year 2012 providing that such incentives shall not exceed P25,000 per qualified employee.

Sangil said the amount for the employees’ incentives can be sourced from the savings of the city government.

He said depending on the savings of the city, the incentives can be given in “two-gives” or in two instalments to help city government employees in their expenses and enrolment fees for their children.

“I can only hope that the mayor will be able to give the incentives in time for graduation or enrolment,” Sangil said.

Meanwhile, AGENDA President Eduardo Sanchez expressed elation to the resolution saying that he is thankful to the city council for approving their incentives in the CNA.

Sanchez also thanked Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan and the city government for supporting their CNA.
