BALANGA CITY — Senator Imee Marcos handed out P12.5 million in cash assistance to 3,500 beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) under the Department of Social Welfare and Development here and Dinalupihan town in Bataan Friday.
Beneficiaries were 1,000 college students from the Bataan Peninsula State University in Balanga City at P5,000 each, 1,500 solo parents from 11 towns and one city at P3,000 each and 1,000 children in Dinalupihan as Pamaskong Handog at P3,000 each.
Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia 3rd and Vice Gov. Cris Garcia accompanied Marcos in the payout.
At a short program at the covered court of Barangay San Jose in Balanga City, the governor acknowledged the hardship of solo parents in raising their children. He said that Senator Marcos was in Bataan to help the solo parents through the assistance of the DSWD.
Garcia said they are devising ways to have a data base of the requirements of every sector for speedy transactions so there will be no need of repeatedly submitting the same requirements.
