TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija (PIA) — Motorists traversing the barangay Agupalo Weste area are now benefiting from the newly-asphalted Muñoz-Lupao Road in Nueva Ecija.
Implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the improvement on the 4.332-lane kilometer stretch of the tertiary road is part of the agency’s asset preservation program.
DPWH Nueva Ecija 1st OIC-District Engineer Osias Santos said the project aims to enhance travel safety and reduce traffic accidents caused by road defects.
“It extends the pavement’s lifespan by protecting the existing road from various environmental factors, thus postponing the need for more extensive and costly repairs in the future,” he explained.
The P35.4-million project was funded under the 2023 General Appropriation Act.
It covers the installation of thermoplastic pavement markings to enhance road safety and offers visual guidance to drivers on the road. (CLJD-PIA 3)
