STARLUX Airlines Inaugurates Taipei – Clark Flights Third Destination in the Philippines

Taipei, August 15, 2023 — STARLUX Airlines celebrated a significant milestone today as it has completed its inaugural flight from Taipei to Clark, making it STARLUX’s third destination in the Philippines. Prior to the departure of Flight JX790 from Clark to Taipei, a route opening ceremony was collaboratively held with the Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD) Corp, operator of Clark International Airport (CRK). The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including STARLUX CEO Glenn Chai; President and CEO of Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), Engr. Joshua Bingcang; Regional Director of Department of Tourism (DOT), Mr. Richard Daenos; President of Clark Development Corporation (CDC), Atty. Agnes Devanadera; President and CEO of LIPAD, Mr. Noel Manankil; Officer Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines (TECO), Ambassador Wallace Minn-Gan Chow.

The inaugural flight was marked by ribbon-cutting and cake-cutting ceremonies, as well as cultural dances performed by local artists. Flight JX790 departed smoothly at 10:45 am, local time, symbolizing STARLUX’s new chapter at Clark International Airport. This momentous occasion is sure to further enhance travel options and strengthen ties between Taiwan and the Philippines.

The Taipei – Clark route is expected to increase STARLUX’s competitiveness in the North American transit market by significantly reducing travel time for passengers heading to the northern Philippines. In addition to offering greater convenience, STARLUX’s premium inflight service will attract more business travelers seeking luxury and comfort.

STARLUX currently flies to 18 destinations, including Los Angeles, Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Okinawa, Sapporo, Sendai, Macau, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hanoi, Manila, Cebu, and Clark.
