TARLAC CITY (PIA) — Department of Trade Industry (DTI) and Tarlac State University (TSU) trained Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs) on Social Media Communications and Marketing.

Members of ARBOs in the municipalities of Camiling, Gerona, Sta. Ignacia and Paniqui participated in the learning session.

DTI Tarlac Trade Industry Development Specialist Paolo Manese said the seminar aims to make ARBOs aware of the importance of using social media as means of communication and marketing as it fosters connections between customers and marketers, besides enabling activities that enhance brand awareness.

“Many brands have experienced ‘cancel culture’ due to miscommunications they have made online, especially on social media platforms and this kind of occurrence affected their businesses. A lot of our assisted ARBOs and CARPreneuers are using their social media pages and accounts to communicate with customers, that is why we find it very important that they will learn how to interact with their customers correctly, politely, and effectively,” he said.

TSU resource speaker Limuel Pavico discussed the importance of Social Media Marketing through presentations of local and international brands that have successfully marketed their businesses online.

Likewise, he talked about the importance of learning how to engage with customers online as it becomes the norm when it comes to communicating with clients.

For her part, Hazel Mabborang taught the participants how to effectively communicate with their customers online by creating effective contents on social media platforms that could give their products a strong social media presence.

DTI, through its Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, addresses the needs of ARBOs in venturing into profitable businesses using their agricultural produce. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
