BOTOLAN, Zambales – A no. 1 Most Wanted Person in this municipality and his body guard were killed by still unidentified gunman at Sitio Alamac, Barangay Carael of this town, Monday evening.
Senior Supt. Francisco Santiago, Jr., director of the Zambales Police Provincial Office, identified the victims as Lester Sagaoc, a.k.a. Boyet, 35, and Isagani Bautista, a.k.a Pukol both residents of Barangay Panan, here.
Sagaoc was dead on the spot while Bautista was declared dead on arrival at the President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital due to multiple gunshot wounds.
Initial investigation disclosed that about 9:20 p.m. witness Lito Bueno said he heard a burst of gunfire along the highway and immediately turned off the lights of their house.
He said few minutes later, he went outside and saw one stainless owner-type jeep bumped into barbwire fence headed south east direction with several gunshots.
The Botolan Police are conducting follow up operations for the possible arrest of the suspects.
