The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said when finished, the towers would link up power cables charged with 500 kilovolts (KV).
The NGCP said the contract for the project has already been awarded to First Balfour Inc.
NGCP Luzon planning division head Jay-R Buluran said the project is expected to be completed in 18 months and would immediately be operational so as to fill in the power needs of the growing population of Central Luzon, as well as parts of Metro Manila.
The funds for the project would be from an P11-billion fund allocated by NGCP for its various projects in the next five years.
Buluran said the new power cables would bring electricity from power plants to local power distribution firms and cooperatives.
