SAMAL, Bataan – Interest in vaccination against Covid seemed to have regained steam as more people were seen in vaccination centers in Bataan Monday, first day of the 10-day Bakunahang Bayan where every individual to be vaccinated will receive P300.
“Maagang pamasko ang handog ng pamahalaang panlalawigan sa bawat babakunahang Bataeño simula Dec. 5 – 16 dahil makakatanggap kayo ng P300,” announced Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III.
“Layon natin na mas tumaas pa ang bilang ng nababakunahan sa ating lalawigan dahil naniniwala tayo na mas masaya ang pagdiriwang ng kapaskuhan kung ang pamilya natin ay ligtas mula sa Covid- 19,” the governor said.
Latest report showed that 1,313,316 vaccine doses have been administered in Bataan, including 239,724 first booster dose to the general adult population. Receiving the first dose were 674,398 individuals, second dose – 638,918; third dose – 239,724 and fourth dose – 39,599.
In Samal, the number of people availing themselves of vaccination started to become heavy at the inoculation center.
Barangay health worker Nora Oliveros, along with other health workers, was busy attending to the applicants before and after vaccination. As of 2 p.m. Monday, Oliveros said 143 individuals have been listed for vaccination and more people were coming.
“May nagpapabakuna ng first dose, second dose, first booster at second booster at pagkatapos makakatanggap sila ng P300 bawat isa, Nagbibigay na rin ng first dose sa 5 – 11 years old” Oliveros said, adding that only Pfizer vaccines were being administered.
Beatrice Aquino, 53, said she has undertaken the first booster shot so that she will be safe from Covid–19.
Romer Ravago, 41, received his second booster dose. “May first booster na naman ako at medyo busy kasi,” he answered when asked why he got vaccinated for the final booster shot only now.
