ANGELES CITY – In just a span of one week, locally made products were patronized during the Kambal Festival trade fair, earning sales amounting to P456,583.
The Kambal Festival trade fair, a program of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. in line with the celebration of Fiestang Kuliat 2022 and to further assist the local merchants, still has two more days to display and sell Gawang Angeleño products at the Plaza Anghel in the city’s Heritage District.
Mayor Lazatin said the unexpected high-rocketing daily sales of the trade fair means that his kababayans, or even those from nearby cities or towns, have full trust and confidence on the quality of locally made products.
“Patunay lamang po ito na mataas ang pagtangkilik sa mga Gawang Angeleño products, kayang-kaya pong makipagsabayan ng dekalidad ng mga lokal na produkto natin sa merkado,” Lazatin shared.
Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, who is supervising the trade fair with Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer-in-Charge Irish Bonus-Llego, said the city government is proud that local merchants are being showcased not just during trade fairs, but also in the city-run One Town One Product store.
Bonus-Llego meanwhile gave a breakdown of the daily sales of the trade fair since Oct. 17, 2022 – P45,974 (Oct. 17); P69,973 (Oct. 18); P54,397 (Oct. 19); P60,462 (Oct. 20); P101,806 (Oct. 21); P55,666 (Oct. 22); and P68,305 (Oct. 23).
Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, who is also one of the key personalities who made the revitalization of OTOP possible in 2019, thanked all who continue to support the local merchants in their livelihood and business.
Calaguas is also part of the planning of the Kambal Festival trade fair.
“Sa totoo lang po, hindi natin nilimitahan ang trade fair pagdating sa mga gustong mag-display. Binigyan din po natin ng puwesto ang mga kababayan nating Aeta community mula sa Barangay Sapangbato, mga gawang-kamay ng mga Persons Deprived of Liberty sa ating BJMP, pati na rin po si Lolo Lito, o mas kilalang Lolo Pops,” Calaguas mentioned.
According to Calaguas, this has been the aim of the trade fair, to introduce and promote more the local merchants and businesses to a larger market.
Among the member-merchants who participated in the trade fair are Impact Balibago Arts and Crafts, K’s Creations, Tamayuq, JJBMS, Chilona, Izzamway, Teresa’s Mashroom, Jaq’s Kitchen, Modesta Empanada, Corndog, Overnasi, Nature’s Harvest, Samarino Accessories, Woodcraft by Madison, Tabak’s, Raj, Cutud Weavers, Ellen Turla, Flores Handicraft, and Organics Farmers.
The Kambal Festival trade fair is up until Oct. 27, 2022, from 8 AM to 8 PM.
