CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The police reported yesterday the arrest of an allegedly “untouchable” illegal drugs gang whose members were allegedly former security men of a former top political offi cial of Nueva Ecija.

A report from the Nueva Ecija police said that arrest resulted from a court-ordered search held recently by the police at the house of suspect Bryan Brigole in Barangay DS Garcia in Cabanatuan City.

Brigole, who is reputed to be the leader of the group, was arrested together with his four members identifi ed as Conrado Mina, Benjamin Pascual, and Ryan Mina and Rommel Divina. Mina introduced himself to the police as a security personnel of the provincial government.

Nueva Ecija police director Supt. Ponciano Zafra said the police confi scated four .38 pistols, one .22 handgun, 75 pieces of ammunitions, a fragmentation grenade, 12 pieces of heat sealed plastic sachets of shabu, six pieces sealed plastic sachets of dried marijuana leaves, 22 pieces unsealed plastic sachets of shabu and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.

A digital micro weighing scale was also seized.

The police also seized four motorcycles, including a black Yamaha MIO belonging to one Rey Francisco who reported last Aug. 5 the theft of his bike in Barangay Camp Tinio in Cabanatuan.

A witness said the group has been engaged in illegal drugs trade for years, but that they had been operating with impunity allegedly because of their ties with a former top offi cial of the Nueva Ecija provincial government.
