Data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Bulacan named the new congressmen as Jose Antonio Sy-Alvarado, son of reelected Gov. Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado, who got 157,828 votes against his closest rival Michael Fermin who garnered 118,663 in the province’s first district.
The younger Alvarado is taking over the post to be vacated by his mother Rep. Marivic Sy-Alvarado. The first district covers the towns of Calumpit, Hagonoy, Pulilan, Paombong, and the City of Malolos.
In the lone district of San Jose del Monte City, Rida Robes, wife of outgoing incumbent Rep. Arthur Robles, won the congressional seat. Her husband won as mayor of the city.
Bulacan’s third district will have come backing Lorna Silverio who won against incumbent Rep. Joselito Mendoza who had run for a third term. Silverio garnered 119, 988 votes, as against Mendoza’s 110,573.
The third district covers the towns of San Rafael, San Ildefonso, San Miguel, Angat, Norzagaray at Dona Remedios Trinidad.
Incumbent Reps. Gavini Pancho and Linabelle Ruth Villarica won for another terms in the second and fourth districts, respectively.
The second district covers Bustos, Baliwag, Plaridel, Guiguinto, Balagtas, Pandi and Bocaue, while the fourth district covers Obando, Marilao, Sta. Maria and the City of Meycauayan.
