CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — A total of 40 farmer cooperatives and associations (FCAs) in Arayat, Pampanga received machineries from Department of Agriculture (DA), under its High Value Crops Development Program.
The equipment, worth P2 million, include multi-cultivators and power sprayers.
DA said this aims to help members of the FCAs to facilitate and speed up their farming using innovative and modern equipment.
During the distribution, chairpersons of the beneficiaries of the FCAs signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the proper operation and maintenance of the machineries given to them.
For his part, Danilo Nano, chairperson of one of the FCA-beneficiaries, thanked DA for the power sprayer that their group received.
“This help, whether small or big, is very important for our farmer-members. We need it [power sprayer] so that when pests come like what happened during our last harvest, we can use it because it is stronger and can reach far so that we can avoid damage to our crops,” he said.
