ORION, Bataan — Police on Thursday reported that five suspected drug traders
were arrested and illegal drugs worth P400,000 and handguns were confiscated in
a buy-bust operation here Wednesday night.
Col. Romell Velasco, Bataan police director, identified those apprehended as John
Kevin Manla, 30; Jayson Paguio, 24; Jerry Monla; 54, Mateo Aquino, 24 and Jiezel
Angeles, 29, all residents of Orion.
Velasco said that members of the police drug enforcement unit and Orion
municipal police under Major Roger Pecenio conducted the operation in Barangay
Villa Angeles and found in the possession of suspects about 50 grams of shabu
valued at P400,000.
Aside from the illegal drugs, confiscated were a .45 pistol and .22 revolver with
live ammunitions.
Velasco said cases for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165 (Comprehensive
Dangerous Drugs Act) and RA 10591 (Illegal Firearms and Ammunitions law) are
being readied against the suspects.
