CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Some 10,000 jobs have been created by the construction of the P10.5-billion North Luzon Expressway (NLEx)-North Harbor Link, the Manila North Tollways Corp. (MNTC) said yesterday.
MNTC President Rodrigo Franco said those employed were mostly workers now engaged in the construction of the 5.76-kilometer elevated expressway.

He said the elevated expressway stretches from Karuhatan in Valenzuela City near the MacArthur Highway and the C-3 Road at 5th Avenue in Caloocan City.

The expressway would link up with Segment 9, which is a 2.42-kilometer expressway from the newly built Mindanao Mega Interchange of the NLEx between Balintawak and Valenzuela exits which cost P1.59 billion, Franco said.

Franco said more jobs would be created once the construction starts for the connector road of the NLEx and the South Luzon Expressway.

The first three kilometers of this project would cross the MacArthur Highway through Letre Road, left towards C-3 road towards Espana Boulevard, he said.

From Espana, the connector road would take the route of the Philippine National Railways towards A. Lacson Avenue, Paco-Sta.Mesa Road, Quirino Avenue up to Osmena Highway linking to Skyway Stage 1 in Buendia in Makati.

This route would have four entry and exit ramps located at C-3 Road in Caloocan, Espana and Quirino in Manila, and Gil Puyat in Makati.
