“One must obtain a passing grade of at least 80 percent in order to earn eligibility that is the key for a stable job in the government,” said CSC regional information officer Diana Henson.

Henson said the examinations are open to “all Filipino citizens aged 18 years old and above who are of good moral character, have neither been found guilty to an offense involving moral turpitude nor have been dishonorably dismissed from any civilian position in the government, and have not taken the same level of CSC examination in less than three months.”

Henson stressed that “passers of the Bar exams and Professional Regulation Commission-administered tests as well as those who graduated with honors need not apply as they are granted with automatic eligibility.”

The professional level examinations would cover vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, analogy, logic and numerical reasoning, while the sub-professional examinations would cover vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, spelling, clerical operations and numerical reasoning, she said.

“There will likewise be a general information test for both professional and subprofessional levels covering the Philippine Constitution, the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, peace and human rights issues and concepts, and environment management and protection,” Henson added.
