CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo and running mate Senator Kiko Pangilinan formally endorsed former mayor Oscar Rodriguez as Liberal Party official candidate for mayor at The Outstanding Fernandino Awards 2022 held at the Heroes’ Hall here Thursday.
Rodriguez, running anew for the post he held from 2004 to 2013, said raising his hands in endorsement by Robredo and Pangilinan was a “great honor” bestowed upon him.
“I did not expect she and Kiko would do that. I think one of those who urged her was Kiko. It will definitely be an enhancement of my campaign,” said Rodriguez, adding that his platform of governance will follow that of Robredo’s down to her campaign style.
Wala naman kaming ipantatapat na pera eh,” he said.
Rodriguez, who served as congressman of the 3rd District of Pampanga in 1987 to 1992 and 1995 to 2004, vowed that if elected, he will prioritize employment and education. He added that he was able to establish the fundamentals during his term.
“Natamaan ang employment, education because of this Covid-19, pandemic.
Rodriguez said he will also continue the projects and programs under outgoing Mayor Edwin Santiago especially those that have already been established.
