CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Pampanga provincial government is now accepting nominations for the 2012 Most Outstanding Kapampangan Awards (MOKA).

The Arts, Culture and Tourism Office of Pampanga (ACTOP) said the awards would be in the fields of law enforcement, education, parenthood, sports, government service, business and entrepreneurship, religion, arts, culture, agriculture, science, technology, mass media, youth service, judicial service and social services.

“MOKA aims to give due recognition to individuals who have excelled in their respective endeavors or professions and have brought pride to the Kapampangan race,” ACTOP said.

It said that nominees should have at least one Kapampanga parent or should have been born in Pampanga or both.

But the provincial government is also open for nominations for the Outstanding Honorary Kapampangan Award which is given to non-Kapampangans who “rendered exemplary service to the province of Pampanga.”

Previous awardees in this category were the late Dr. Raymundo Punongbayan of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, and former President Fidel V. Ramos.

“Nominators are advised to download the nomination form in the provincial government’s official website- www.pampangacapitol.ph,” ACTOP said.

Deadline for the submission of nominations is on November 10.

ACTOP said the awardees will be announced and honored this December, in time for the celebration of the 441st Aldo Ning Kapampangan or Pampanga Day.
