VAX AS ONE. Angeles City joins the national government’s three-day vaccination drive on Nov. 29, 2021. Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. supervises the Ronda Bakuna mobile bus clinic deployed in the city’s entry boundaries and around the city, as well in the mega vaccination sites at the City College of Angeles and Angeles City National High School.

ANGELES CITY — The city government here under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. has deployed mobile bus clinics in the city’s entry point boundaries on Nov. 29, 2021 via Ronda Bakuna, marking the start of #VaxAsOne.

Dubbed as “Bayanihan, Bakunahan”, Mayor Lazatin said the city is joining the national government’s three-day vaccination drive in its bid to continue efforts to boost the country’s vaccination rate against Covid-19.

Through Ronda Bakuna clinics in the city’s boundaries, all unvaccinated non-residents and Angeleño residents can receive their vaccination.

“The only way to protect ourselves and our families from the dreaded respiratory disease is to get vaccinated,” Lazatin said.

“Kaya naman po kahit hindi residente ng siyudad, babakunahan po natin,” he furthered.

Apart from this, IC Calaguas, Lazatin’s chief adviser and chief implementer of the city’s vaccination program, explained that the two mega vaccination sites of the city government at the City College of Angeles and Angeles City National High School will accommodate all walk-in residents and non-residents who want to be vaccinated until Dec. 1, 2021.

“Minors will only be accepted at the two mega vaccination sites where our volunteer-pediatricians are on duty, also provided they have the necessary requirements and accompanied by their legal guardian,” Calaguas said.

Calaguas shared that there is also a deployed mobile vaccination ambulance at Philippine National Police stations here to vaccinate persons under PNP custody.

The city’s vaccination team is composed of 400 working staff.

Angeles City is only the Local Government Unit that launched a blended scheme vaccination drive via the house-to-house Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay using a mobile bus clinic, and the Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay program, that takes residents to the mega vaccination sites from their homes, using six Philippine Rabbit buses and 10 jeepneys.

This strategy has been commended by the World Health Organization.

To date, a total of 304,716 Angeleños already received their first dose of vaccines while 244,587 are already fully vaccinated, while 77 got their booster shots.
