Councilor Dan Lacson is served his summons by CNRO personnel.
ANGELES CITY – The city environment and natural resources office has continued serving summons to candidates whose posters have been nailed on trees.
On Saturday, the CENRO issued citation tickets to incumbent councilors Danilo Lacson and Jesus “Jay” Sangil for violation of Chapter 15 of the Environmental Code of Angeles City (City Ordinance 431) that prohibits the posting of billboards, posters, streamers, and similar such promotional materials on trees in public places.
The CENRO summoned the two councilors, both bidding for reelection under the Team Lazatin slate, “to appear at the [CENRO] within three days from date thereof for appropriate disposition of the citation. Failure to appear… as required the city mayor shall within twenty-four hours forward the case to the office of the prosecutor for the filing of appropriate charges.”
Last Friday, incumbent councilor and mayoralty candidate Amos Rivera was served the same summons along with incumbent councilor JC Parker, who is also running under Team Lazatin, and independent candidate for the city council Alma Dizon-Mercado.
