MARIVELES, Bataan — More workers continued to troop to the vaccination center at the Freeport Area of Bataan here, the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) announced Friday.
AFAB senior information officer Karen B. Padaoan said 16,807 have been administered with the first dose of the anti-coronavirus disease vaccine with more than 10,000 already receiving the final dose.
“The continuous increase in the number of people who want to get vaccinated at the FABayanihan’s 1Bataan FABakuna Center is good news to the freeport,” Padaoan said.
She noted that in over two months of operation of the FABakuna Center, AFAB led by administrator Emmanuel Pineda actively conducted various campaigns to educate the freeport community on the importance of being vaccinated and to encourage more workers on getting the Covid–19 vaccine.
The local government unit of Mariveles has approved the recommendations submitted by AFAB where at the end of the talks, the allowed 50 percent manpower in FAB companies has been increased up to 100 percent, Padaoan said.
“This is in conjunction with the implementation of staggered working hours and shifting schedules and the number of vaccinated workers per company,” she added.
AFAB has also launched the Covid–19 Safety-Assured FAB Enterprise (SAFE) Shield to continue encouraging companies to improve its response to the challenges posed by Covid-19.
“The AFAB will issue the Covid SAFE Shield to companies that will regularly conduct free monthly testing for workers and have at least 90 percent fully vaccinated workers at all times. Also, qualified companies may be allowed to continue their operations even during declaration of ECQ or MECQ,” Padaoan said.
Two mascots , FABlo and FABebe were launched to make the vaccination campaign more inviting.
AFAB public health consultant Dr. Noel Bernardo shared in the free webinar “FAB speaks” the facts about the vaccine and other relevant information.
“We know that vaccination is the most evidence-based and has the highest effectiveness in ending a pandemic,” Bernardo said.
