CABANATUAN CITY — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the clearing of landslide along K0166+920 section of Nueva Ecija – Aurora Road in barangay Labi in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija.
The landslide was first reported on Thursday, September 9, and was triggered by continuous rain caused by tropical disturbance “Jolina”.
“Affected section of the road was temporarily opened to traffic on Friday, September 10 after the Maintenance Team of our Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office cleared one of its lanes,” DPWH Regional Director Roseller Tolentino said.
It was again closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, September 11, due to landslides caused by the rains brought by tropical disturbance “Kiko”.
“The two lanes of the affected road section are now passable to all types of vehicles as our maintenance crew completed the clearing work yesterday afternoon,” Tolentino furthered.
Remaining mud and debris along the affected road section are still being removed to make it safe for passing motorists. (CLJD-PIA 3)
