CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A health facility exclusive to obstetrics-gynecology patients found positive of the coronavirus disease is set to be established in Pampanga.

In a meeting Thursday with OB-GYN doctors from the district hospitals, Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda called for everyone’s support and cooperation for his initiative in the wake of reported increase in the number of pregnant women testing positive of Covid-19.

Malu Lacson, Pampanga’s central command deputy on Covid-19 vaccination rollout, said nine women in various stages of pregnancy were reported to have contracted Covid in just one day last week.

Pineda said the facility for women will also help decongest the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital due to the spike in the number of Covid-19 patients currently admitted here.

The hospital is reported to have already reached 97 percent of its bed capacity for Covid-19 cases.

Lacson said the planned facility will have initially 15 beds with five OB-GYN doctors to care for the patients.
