GAPAN CITY – A suspected pusher of meth from Navotas City was killed in a buy- bust operation that turned bloody in Barangay Sto. Cristo Norte here at around 10:25 p.m. on Saturday.
Acting city police chief Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito said that suspect Noel Esguerra, 55, of Bangkulas, Navotas City yielded 11 plastic sachets of shabu with a total weight of 62 grams estimated with a street value of P421,000, a .38 revolver and drug paraphernalia.
Forensic investigators also recovered from the suspect the one piece genuine and 12 pieces of boodle P1,000 bills used in the buy-bust, Desamito added.
She said the suspect was included in the police’s list of high value targets having been allegedly previously arrested and jailed for drug pushing at least twice.
“Last year lang po siya nakalaya, balik ulit sa iligal po,” Desamito said.
In her report to Nueva Ecija police director Col. Rhoderick Campo, Desamito said the operation against Esguerra was conducted by composite team from different police units in with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The operating team headed by Lt. Francis Capili had already purchased drugs from the suspect when the latter allegedly opened fire as lawmen were about to effect arrest.
“The suspect sustained fatal wounds resulting to his instantaneous death after initiating a firefight,” Desamito said.
