BALANGA CITY — The provincial government of Bataan received from the national government a total of P698.283 million in financial assistance for being placed under the enhanced community quarantine, Gov. Albert Garcia announced Monday while thanking President Duterte.

The governor said that the local government units in 11 towns and one city in the province will soon distribute their respective allocation to beneficiaries.

“Antabayanan lamang ang anunsyo mula sa ating mga barangay ukol sa iskedyul at pamamaraan ng pamamahagi nito,” Garcia said.

In the first district, Abucay got P34.388-M, Dinalupihan – P102.343-M, Hermosa – P61.955-M, Morong – P28.316-M, Orani – P61.656-M and Samal – P31.244-M.

Under the second district, Balanga City received P83.339-M, Bagac – P26.680-M, Limay – P62.618-M, Pilar – P36.992-M, Mariveles – P120.135-M, and Orion – P48.617-M.

Beneficiaries of the “ayuda” are poor individuals or those belonging to low-income families who have resided in the province during the start of the declaration of the ECQ in Bataan or specifically on Aug. 8, 2021.

Unless extended, ECQ will last until Aug. 22, 2021 in Bataan.

Each beneficiary will receive P1,000 but not more than P4,000 for each family. The distribution depends on how the LGU assisted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of the Interior and Local Government will implement it.

Before the pay-out, the names of payees will be published  in official social media platforms of each LGU or posted by the barangays.

The LGUs have 15 days to hand out the “ayuda” although it can be extended if needed.

“Samantala,  patuloy ang paminigay ng 25 kilo ng bigas sa lahat ng mga tahanan sa lalawigan at kasunod na din ang muling pagbubukas ng “Kusina sa Barangay” upang masiguro na walang Bataeno na sasala sa oras,” Garcia said.

The provincial government has purchased 254,722 bags of rice  of 25 kilos each. The  distribution goes on, the governor said,  even during Saturdays and Sundays.
