MABALACAT CITY – The Pampanga Electric Corporation II (Pelco 2), on Tuesday, announced another scheduled power interruption via its official Facebook page.
The scheduled power interruption will be on Saturday, July 17, to last for nine hours between 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
All barangays in Mabalacat, and some barangays in nearby Maglalang including Barangay Sta. Lucia barrio and resettlement Phases 1 and 2 will be affected by the said power interruption.
On its Facebook post, Pelco 2 stated the reason is due to the maintenance with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) of corrective works between tower 70-71 located in Sapang Biabas, Mabalacat as well as Pelco 2’s testing and installation of metering facility, substation works, O & M works, and R.O.W / clearing of lines.
Since January of this year up to present, based on its official Facebook page, Pelco 2 had already recorded approximately 67 emergency power interruptions that usually last from 15 minutes to two hours primarily due to facilitation of repairs on cut primary lines, repairs on cut out fuse, correction of sagging poles, etc.
For the same period, there has been a total of roughly 52 scheduled power interruptions as announced that usually lasts from four to nine hours due to testing and installation of metering facilities, O&M works, and NGCP maintenance that the residents in its coverage areas usually Porac and Mabalacat, and some parts of Magalang, Guagua, Bacolor, among others have already experienced.
