CABANATUAN CITY – Ranking employees of the National Irrigation Administration central office joined the simultaneous tree planting activity in various dam watersheds in Nueva Ecija as part of the National Greening Program under administrator Ricardo R. Visaya on Friday.

Engr. Rosalinda B. Bote, department manager of Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation System, said at least 16 NIA public affairs and information staff headed by acting manager Eden Victoria P. Selva and Environment and Watershed Management Section Project and Planning Division took part in planting 500 rambutan and duhat seedlings at a 6,000-square meter area in Upper Tabuating watershed in Barangay Nazareth, Gen. The activity was also part of the agency’s 58th anniversary celebration.

Also with Bote in the said site were some 75 staff of UPRIIS head office and Division III officials headed by acting division manager Elenita L. Toquero.

Prior to the planting of trees, participants were briefed on the proper planting methods to avoid mortality of the trees to be planted.
