CABANATUAN CITY – Nueva Ecija Gov. Aurelio Umali tested positive for the coronavirus disease.
In a message posted on Facebook Page Serbisyong Matapat para Sa Novo Ecijano, Umali said he was initially tested positive on antigen test on March 21, Sunday.
“Ngayong araw naman po ay sumailalim naman ako sa RT-PCR test at lumabas po na kumpirmado positibo ako sa nasabing virus,” Umali said as he emphasized his obligation to disclose his health status as the provincial governor.
“Kasalukuyan po akong naka-quarantine sa aming tahanan. Bagamat nasa ganitong kalagayan ay patuloy kong ginagampanan ang aking sinumpaang tungkulin sa ating Lalawigan,” he added.
Umali, in the same message, appealed to his constituents to always follow health protocols being imposed by the Department of Health and the Nueva Ecija Inter-Agency Task Force as Covid-19 cases continue to rise.
“Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat. Ingatan nawa tayo ng ating Panginoon,” he said.
