BALANGA C
ITY — The Department of Health and the Department of Science and Technology the other day donated to the provincial government five RxBox packages to protect and care for the health of those affected by the coronavirus disease.

Gov. Albert Garcia on Saturday said the RxBox is a very important set of telemedicine device used to monitor the condition of a patient while limiting face-to-face encounter.

It serves as blood pressure monitor, pulse Oximeter, electrocardiogram, fetal heart monitor, maternal tachometer and temperature sensor,” the governor said.

Garcia said the packages were turned over to the Mariveles District Hospital, Mariveles Mental Wellness and General Hospital, Dinalupihan District Hospital, Balanga Rural Health Unit and the Bataan Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center.

The drug rehab center doubles as temporary treatment and monitoring facility for Covid19.

Patuloy ang ating pakikipag-ugnayan sa mga pampublikong ahensya at mga pribadong kumpanya na nakapagbibigay ng tulong sa mga hakbang na ating ipinatutupad upang labanan ang Covid-19,” the governor said.

He said that in a few days, inoculation in the province for frontline health workers will start with vaccines shared by the national government.

The governor announced the completion of the cold chain storage facility with the arrival of the bio-medical freezers with complete storage solutions. The freezers can store up to almost 100,000 vials of anti-Covid-19 vaccines at different required temperatures.

Garcia said that the provincial government has purchased five units of freezers that can maintain any kind of vaccines in the right temperature and kept in stable condition at all times, even in cases of power outages.

The cold chain storage facility was installed at the Bataan People’s Center in the provincial Capitol compound that will serve as the centralized inoculation center.

The provincial health office led by Dr. Rosanna Buccahan has conducted several simulations in preparation to the actual day of vaccination as well as providing trainings of personnel beginning with the patient validation, screening, counseling, actual vaccination, and post-vaccination on the day of the roll-out.

Bataan is set to receive Sinovac vaccines any day now for the first leg of the roll-out from the national government earmarked for the medical frontliners belonging to the Priority Group A as dictated by the DOH.
