CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan recognized the “substantial and invaluable contributions” of late Pampanga Health Chief Dr. Marcelo ‘Mar’ Jaochico, who served at the frontline in the country’s battle against the susceptible coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In Resolution No. 6109, series of 2020 passed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the provincial government expressed its sympathy for the loss of the bereaved family of Jaochico.
It can be recalled that last March 24, Jaochico died after being inflicted with COVID-19 at the age of 56.
“The province of Pampanga under the leadership of Governor Pineda joins the Jaochico family of the untimely demise of their father whose death is a great loss not only to them but also to the people of Pampanga” the resolution stated.
Moreover, the Sangguniang also conferred Jaochico with a posthumous recognition through Resolution No. 6110, series of 2020 to highlight his selfless service and devotion as Pampanga’s health chief for 8 years since he assumed office in 2012.
Jaochico’s son Carl Angel Jaochico and wife Rose Anne Jaochico received the plaques and expressed her gratitude for the recognition given to his dad.
“Nakakaproud, kasi daddy died for a reason. Nakakatuwa kasi they recognized him as a modern-day hero,” he said.
Jaochico’s wife also thanked the provincial government for the support it has extended to their family.
“Nagpapasalamat po kami kay Governor Delta at Vice Governor Nanay at sa buong admin ng pamahalaang panlalawigan ng Pampanga dahil hindi niyo po kami pinabayaan. Inantabayanan niyo po kami mula noong nasa ospital ang asawa ko hanggang ngayong nagdadalamhati kami,” she expressed.
The former PHO chief has been a beacon of hope for many in providing quality healthcare services for the people in the country.
Dr. Jaochico had selflessly devoted his profession as a government doctor to the barrios in Calansan, Apayao for 16 years.
He served the community with scarce resources to battle different outbreaks such as Dengue, Malaria, Measles, and Cholera.
Governor Pineda said Jaochico’s unparalleled service and legacy will remain and be remembered in the hearts of every Kapampangan.
