LIMAY, Bataan — Police on Thursday night apprehended at the Roman Highway in Barangay Lamao here a curfew violator who, upon protective search, yielded illegal drugs in his possession.
Major Emelito dela Cruz, Limay police chief, named the suspect as Jeffrey Ludovico, 37, jobless, of Barangay Batangas Dos in Mariveles, Bataan.
The Patrulya ng Bayan with the town security unit and barangay tanod of Lamao led by Master Sergeant Christian Avero was conducting patrol when at 10:30 p.m. they chanced upon the suspect violating curfew as mandated by the modified enhanced community quarantine, dela Cruz said.
Curfew in Limay as well as in the rest of the other 10 towns and a city in Bataan is set from 8 p.m to 5 a.m. of the next day.
Upon arrest and during protective search, lawmen seized from the suspect eight small size heat-sealed plastic sachets believed to be containing shabu stashed at the back of his cellphone, the police chief said.
Dela Cruz said they are preparing charges not only for violation of curfew hours under Republic Act 11332 but of Section 11 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
