MABALACAT CITY — With the goal of providing long term relief to its constituents, the city government will be distributing 25 kilos of rice per household starting next week following the extension of the enhanced community quarantine.
City administrator Atty. Emmanuel Ignacio said the city is currently realigning the budget as the extended ECQ was announced only last Tuesday. Rice distribution, he added, is also being reviewed as some families will be receiving assistance through the social amelioration program of P6,500 per month for two months.
“May na-earmark na kami na families na bibigyan ng 25 kilos. Yung mga nabigyan ng financial assistance hindi na siguro maisasama. After Holy Week na yan mag-umpisa, before April 30 siguro dahil iko–consider pa yung araw ng pagbili ng bigas,” said Ignacio.
“Yung mga makakatanggap mula sa social amelioration program baka hindi na makatanggap ng kaban ng bigas. Pinag–aaralan pa ito, hindi pa sure ito pero ang original na plano ay bibigyan lahat,” he added.
The city government this week distributed assorted vegetables in relief packs to its constituents.
