Covid-19 in Zambales: 4th, 5th cases reported

SAN MARCELINO, Zambales –A Singaporean pastor residing here was reported as the fourth positive case of Covid19 patient in the province.

Mayor Elvis Soria, concurrent municipal head of the interagency task force, said that the patient is a 69yearold male from a Christian church in this town. Soria said that the patient has a travel history in Singapore on March 1, in Japan on March 8, and arrived here last March 14.

On March 26, the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team recorded him as patient under investigation after he was found to have a high fever and in the succeeding days showed cough and other symptoms until March 29.

On March 30, he was reported to be slowly recovering by the Municipal Health Officer who also scheduled the swab testing for the patient after giving some medicines. The tests were immediately sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine.

On April 3, RITM
confirmed that the patient is positiveof Covid19 despite his recovery and is already in good health.

Immediately, Soria ordered the lockdown and immediate disinfection of the surroundings of the patients residence and contact tracing was done.

Meanwhile, Zambales Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr reported that a 42-yearold woman with Severe Acute Respiratory System was the 5th case of Covid19 in the province. The patient is from San Felipe and is reported not to have any travel history record.

Ebdane said that the patient together with the 4th patient from San Marcelino were under the watch of the President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital.

The governor renewed his call to Zambaleños to follow the advice of the Department of Health to stay home, follow social distancing and adhere to the cleanliness  to be safe from the plague.

Meanwhile, Zambales 1st patient positive of Covid-19 in San Antonio town was already in stable condition after the second test last March 31 showed negative result. The patient is under home quarantine waiting for the third Covid-19 test.
