BALANGA CITY — The first patient found positive of Covid-19 in Bataan has recovered and discharged from the Bataan St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center (BSJHMC) here.
Eden Tupaz, BSJHMV collection and disbursement officer, on Thursday confirmed that PH64, 32, male, was discharged from the hospital Tuesday, March 24.
He is a resident of Bataan but working as a Manila university professor.
An announcement said that all hospital personnel who were exposed to PH64 underwent the mandatory 14-day quarantine.
“They are all well and have been advised to report back for duty. Even two other persons under investigation have also been discharged in stable condition,” the hospital advisory said.
“Our services have been streamlined to ensure the safety of all our personnel as well as the people we all come in contact with,” the advisory continued.
The hospital said it continues to maintain the infectious protocols it has been enforcing since the very start of the pandemic. It maintains a triage where PUIs and persons under monitoring are screened and evaluated whether there is a need for admission.
“Our emergency room and outpatient department remain open for other medical consults,” BSHHMC said.
The province’s first Covid–19 patient was admitted in the hospital on March 9.
The professor’s dormitory roommate in Manila, PH303, M-24, was the second found inflicted with the virus in Bataan. The third is also a male, 55.
Gov. Albert Garcia said PH64 will still undergo post admission quarantine where he will be under strict home quarantine for 14 days under tight watch of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team and monitoring of the municipal health office.
“Ang inyo pong lingkod ay tunay na nagagalak at nagpapasalamat sa ating Panginoon at sa lahat ng mga duktor at health workers na nangalaga sa kanya,” the governor said.
To date, there are 2 Covid-positive cases, 8,099 PUMs, 579 mild PUIs, and 60 moderate-severe PUIs in Bataan.
