PUMs, PUIs in Bataan increasing

BALANGA CITY — The number of persons under monitoring (PUM) and persons under investigation (PUI) in this province is increasing, the Friday report of the Bataan Interagency Task Force on Covid19 showed.

From 4,134 PUMs on Thursday, the number grew to 4,287 while those of PUIs increased from 195 to 206.

Of the PUIs, 189 are mild cases and 17 from moderate to severe. The number of confirmed cases remained at one, PH64, whose condition, Gov. Albert Garcia said, was greatly improving.

Angel Ortiz Luis, Bataan Capitol information officer, said the priority of the task force headed by the governor are those PUI with severe cases.

“We are awaiting Covid testing kits as well and on continuous updating,” Luis said.

Latest report showed that 647 PUMs and 47 PUIs came from Mariveles, 638 PUMs and 23 PUIs from Dinalupihan, 593 PUMs and 18 PUIs from Bagac, 514 PUMs and 28 PUIs from Orion, 440 PUMs and 32 PUIs from Balanga, and 360 PUMsand 4 PUIs from Pilar.

From Orani there are 336 PUMs and 3 PUIs, Hermosa with 317 PUMs and 2 PUIs, Abucay 175 PUMs and 17 PUIs, Samal 156 PUMs and 8 PUIs, Limay 111 PUMs and 22 PUIs, and others 2 PUIs.

Of the number, 191 have been cleared, the report showed.

On March 17, the whole province was declared under state of calamity with 48 checkpoints set-up to implement enhanced community quarantine.

Garcia asked residents to be calm, practice cooperation, and follow instructions from government to surpass the serious health challenge posed by Covid19.
