    CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The 2012 Mutya ning Kapampangan officially started on Saturday and 14 candidates showed up during the first screening graced by Gov. Lilia Pineda and Apalit Mayor Oscar “Jun” Tetangco.

    Second District Board Member Olga Frances “Fritzie” David-Dizon,  Mutya ning Kapampangan committee chair, said the other candidates to complete the bets for Pampanga’s three cities and 19 towns will be presented on their rehearsal next week.

    “Many of our contestants have on-going pageants in their own area and they can only join after a few days.

    But rest assured we will make the most of what we have to give the best contest showcasing not the just the inner and outside beauties of our talents but the ability to involve poise, intelligence and class when they present themselves,” said David-Dizon in a statement.

    David-Dizon thanked Pineda and Tetangco for attending the initial screening at the Capitol’s Benigno Hall boosting the confidence of the candidates.  She also expressed gratitude to 1stDistrict Board Member CrisGarbo, Mutya ning Kapampangan 2012 vice chair, for giving a pep talk to the candidates.

    David-Dizon disclosed that the SM City Pampanga, SM City Clark, SM City San Fernando, Save More in Apalit town, Fontana Leisure Park, Marquee Mall in Angeles City and so-called Hillside Park in Sta. Rita town will be the venues of the prestigious contest leading to the coronation night set on December 10 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.

    The pre-pageant will be held at the SM City Clark on December 7.

    The candidates will also have a pictorial shoot in Nabuklod, Floridablanca. The area some 1,200 feet above sea level is being developed as agriculture and tourism area since last year.
