CLARK FREEPORT – Singapore is now eyeing the New Clark City located in the Clark special economic zone in Capas, Tarlac as a new haven for investments.
This was gleaned during the three-day visit of Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean here early this month. Teo earlier met with President Rodrigo R. Duterte upon his arrival on January 31 and visited Clark Green City the following day.
Teo then visited the SIA Engineering Phil. Corp. (SIAEP) here on Friday where he was received by Transportation Secretary Arthur P. Tugade, Clark Development Corp. (CDC) president Noel F. Manankil, Clark International Airport Corp. OIC Alexander Cauguiran, and SIAEP general manager Abu Bakar Bin Kunji Mohammed and deputy GM Rene Banzon.
The deputy prime minister was accompanied by fi ve members of the Singapore Parliament led by Deputy Speaker of the House Charles Chong as well as Singapore Ambassador to the Philippines Kok Li Peng.
SIAEP briefed Teo on how to “spot” new developments, “plan” for the future, and “do” operations, Banzon said.
SIAEP welcomed him with a video on the history of SIAEP, a presentation on SIAEP’s business concepts, another presentation on the outlook of Clark and the airport and a tour of the hangars, he added.
