ANGELES CITY – Mayor Edgardo “Ed” Pamintuan announced that at least P13 million worth of classrooms in public schools here are being constructed in support of the “Kabahagi Ako sa Handog Silid Aralan Tugon sa Kaunlaran.”

Pamintuan expressed “full support” to the ‘Kabahagi Ako’ project initiated by First District Rep. Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin.

The mayor said the funds will be used to repair or fully refurbish at least 32 classrooms.

According to the report of City Engr. Donato Dizon to Pamintuan, the classrooms are at Don Ambrocio Mendiola Elementary School, Pandan Elementary School, Mining Elementary School, Sapang Bato Elementary School, E. Sandico Elementary School, Pulung Bulo Elementary School, Pampang Elementary School and San Ignacio Elementary School.

Lazatin and the Department of Education launched last year the project to fund the construction and major repair of at least 444 classrooms in the province’s first district composed of this city, Mabalacat and Magalang.

The congressman tapped local government units and private firms to raise over P300 million funds for the said project.

Lazatin said he already have at least P288-million worth of pledges and commitments for the building and massive repair of classrooms.

He also disclosed that the Philippine Gaming and Amusement Corp. (Pagcor) will give some P50 million.

“I can’t mention them all but they are many who helped us realize the goal to make more public classrooms for the benefit of young people. Our office thanked all of them,” said Lazatin.
