A reporter for a Manila tabloid and his companion were killed after they were shot by a man with whom they had a heated altercation in Arayat, Pampanga around 10:30pm October 20, 2019.
Media reports said a closed circuit tv camera captured how the suspect shot Jupiter Gonzales of Remate and his companion, Christopher Tiongson following the argument in Barangay Cacutud in Arayat town.
Police earlier said Tiongson died instantly while Gonzales was rushed by responding policemen to the Arayat District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The killer remains at large.
If Gonzales is proven to have been the target and the attack was work-related, he would be the 14th journalist killed under the Duterte administration and the 187th since 1986.
