CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “People from Sta. Rita are really beautiful.”

Thus said Sta. Rita Mayor Yolly Pineda on Friday shortly after her town produced its first-ever Mutya Ning Kapampangan – 16-year-old Ritz Ann Riggie V. Alzul of Barangay Dila-Dila.

Born in Bahrain but grew up in her homeprovince, Alzul bested 21 other candidates from the 19 other towns and two cities in the annual beauty contest highlighting the “Aldo Ning Kapampangan.”

Alzul was also chosen as Darling of the Press by members of various media organizations in the province led by the Pampanga Press Club. She was given a plaque bearing her photo and P10,000 cash by the PPC.

Asked to describe her victory, Altuz thanked God and organizers of the event led by Gov. Lilia Pineda and Third District Board Member Monina Laus and Malou Garbes, heads of the organizing committee.

Alzul expressed desire to pursue joining other beauty contests, including the Binibining Pilipinas.

An accountancy student at the Lyceum University, Alzul said “she was happy and proud for being the first Mutya from Sta. Rita.”

Multi-titled beauty queen Anna Nicolette Henson of this city said Alzul “is very much deserving of the crown.” She graced the contest and awarded the other winners.

Jaime Luzong of Lubao said Alzul has the potentials of being a winner in other prominent beauty contests.

“She just have to practice more and develop her body. It’s different ballgame. But I am sure she will go places,” he said.
