SUBIC, Zambales – A suspected drug pusher was killed, while his cohort eluded arrest when they fired their guns at operatives of Subic Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) during drug operations in Barangay Mangan Vaca here.
Police Major Gilbert Diaz, head of Subic PNP, in his report to Zambales Police Provincial Office (ZPPO) director Col. Ponce Rogelio Peñones, Jr., identified the fatality s Abrill Punzalan y Reyes, 25, resident of Barangay Del Pilar, Castillejos, Zambales. His still unidentified cohort eluded arrest.
Report said that during the transaction, the suspects sensed that they were dealing with police officers, drew their firearms and fired at the policemen.Police returned fire which resulted to instantaneous death of Punzalan while his cohort escaped.
Reports added that Punzalan was involved in illegal drugs peddling and series of robbery incidents in Subic and nearby municipalities.
Recovered at the crime scene were one heat-sealed sachet containing suspected shabu, one Kawasaki Fury motorcycle without plate number, and one 9MM pistol.
