ANGELES CITY – At least five alleged “flying” registrants have implicated an aspirant for Barangay Balibago village chief in the reported padding of voters’ list for the October 25 elections.

Residents of Barangay Capaya II, here who are native of Arayat town came to the office of Barangay Captain Rodelio “Tony” Mamac yesterday and told him that they had been asked to vote for businessman Allan Bonifacio in the October 25 barangay elections.

Victor Miclat, Paulo Pascual, Alvin Pascual, Gerardine Pascual and Rodelio Garcia said they have been recruited by a certain Harold Aquino to register last August 11 at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office at the city hall.

“We were given P200 pesos each after signing documents we didn’t prepare,” Gerardine said in the dialect.

Mamac, for his part, said “If I were Bonicfacio, I would not run anymore for barangay captain after being implicated in the scam.”

Bonfacio, father of Councilor Alfie Bonifacio, denied the allegations of the five alleged flying registrants. He said “that’s Mamac figment of imagination.”

“My conscience is clear. This is pure political harassment,” Bonifacio said.

He disclosed that he and Mamac met at the Comelec office when the latter was filing an opposition against 73 alleged flying registrants.

Bonifacio said he was there to vouch for the “integrity of his workers who registered in Balibago.”

“Some of them were born and raised in Balibago. Others have been working with me for six years,” Bonifacio said.
