CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Gov. Eddie Panlilio yesterday vehemently denied the allegations that he had neglected senior citizens in Pampanga.

In a phone interview, Panlilio said he had supported the National Federation of Seniors Citizens Associations of the Philippines (NFSCAP) through the Office of the Seniors Citizens OSCA.

“It’s not true that I have not supported the senior citizens. The funds should be put on the proper channel as part of our advocacy on good governance,” stressed Panlilio. He said that NFSCAP is a non-governmental organization, while the OSCA is a government entity.

Panlilio disclosed that NFSCAP Pampanga chapter President Lilian David had wanted the funds to be directly coursed through her office.

“That is what they did in the previous administration (of Gov. Mark Lapid). David wants direct control of the funds for senior citizens,” added Panlilio.

“We want proper accounting of the funds,” he added.
