CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “I declared the truth and they are still receivables.”

Thus said Provincial Administrator Atty. Vivian Dabu about the millions of pesos that made her net worth nearly doubled in a matter of one year as reflected in photocopied statements and liabilities and net worth (SALN) obtained by Punto last week.

In an interview, Dabu said she had acquired some P14 million assets in 2008 – or some P6 million higher compared to her previous assets in 2007 – because she had won some legal cases with her law firm here.

“I stopped handling legal cases when I began to work at the Capitol beginning 2007. But there were some cases I chose to finish and we won them allowing me to earn,” said Dabu in justifying the increase considering that she had not received salaries for over a year since Gov. Eddie Panlilio appointed her.

Dabu also questioned Punto on why it had acquired copies of her SALN when – she said – it has prohibited by the Ombudsman to release them. She added that the Ombudsman issued the order shortly after Pampanga Second District Rep. Juan Miguel Arroyo was exposed in a news item of owning a house in the United States which was not included in his SALN.

“Only the court can ask for the release of the SALN,” added Dabu.

Asked about her Chrono International company in Lubao, Pampanga declared in her SALN,  Dabu said “it’s a private firm engaged in selling perfume.”

She stressed to Punto that she had not violated any law.
