With the help of the town council led by Vice Mayor Prospero “Pros” Lagman, the municipal government has served its constituents well enough.
Since first becoming mayor in 1995, Morales has poured in many of their resources to his no-nonsense education program. He is the first-ever local chief executive who successfully put up a community college in Pampanga, benefiting poor students.
Earlier, Morales aggressively pursued the establishment of the Mabalacat National High School in Barangay Dau. It now benefits some 5,000 high school students.
Morales, through the years, has steadily lifted the economy and income of the first class municipality. From a mere P22- million income, the Morales-led government registered P209 million income last year and the projected income this year is about P301 million..
Last year, Morales was “dreaming again for his people,” wanting to establish the Central Business District (CBD) north of the town. And just last week, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo led the inauguration of the P70-million municipal hall donated by Delfin Lee, developer of the P6-billion Xevera-Mabalacat in Barangay Tabun which is the first major part of the CBD.
Under the leadership of Morales , the town of Mabalacat has gone now way but up.
