CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The unconditional cash transfer (UCT) payout held over the weekend in various parts of Central Luzon benefitted a total of 23,321 indigents.

Of the total, 748 are from Aurora; 3,618 from Bataan; 1,311 from Bulacan; 7,728 from Nueva Ecija; 4,389 from Pampanga; 3,554 from Tarlac; and 1,973 from Zambales. Each beneficiary received P2,400 which is good for one year.

UCT is a program under the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law. It is designed to provide P200 per month in 2018 and P300 per month in 2019 to 4.4 million Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries, three million Social Pension Program beneficiaries, and 2.4 million Listahanan beneficiaries from all over the country,” Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) regional director Gemma B. Gabuya said.

The DSWD reiterated that the activity is neither a project nor a program of any incumbent elected official or any known individual who recently filed their certificate of candidacy in the 2019 midterm elections.

“We remind the public that local officials are good partners in the program implementation. However, the same have no power in the inclusion and exclusion processes of national DSWD programs and services,” Gabuya clarified.
