ANGELES CITY – Ten families in Barangay Cutcut here were chosen as the first beneficiaries of the Quality Meal
and Nutrition Assistance Program of the Jenra Foundation, Inc. (JFI).
At last Saturday’s awarding of JFI’s nutrition assistance certificates at the Cutcut Barangay Hall, John Bonifacio, JFI head coordinator, said they initially selected 10 families in the barangay even as the program will be replicated in the other villages as well.
“This is just the start of our program. We will do this in other barangays also,” he said. Bonifacio said the chosen families will be given complete nutrition packages by JFI every week for two months.
He also said Cutcut Barangay Chief Cecille Nepomuceno was instrumental, through her daughter Abby, in choosing the initial 10 family-beneficiaries who were picked from among the poorest in the village. JFI’s Dr. Nenita Tan, who is also a resident physician of the Sacred Heart Hospital, examined the children-beneficiaries in last Saturday’s simple awarding of nutrition certificates.
For her part, Nepomuceno expressed her gratitude to JFI for extending a helping hand to the poorest of her constituents.
